Shortly after The Well juice bar photo shoot, I saw Laura post a photo of Cade proposing to her on their Siem Reap, Cambodia trip! You can imagine how excited I was when I received a message from her asking if could capture some photos of the two of them in a home engagement session! As with any new session style, I was a bit nervous but figured I'd go for it!
We arranged to meet at 11am when the sun would be high and bright to avoid too many low light situations. The home was beautifully decorated and fantastic to shoot in as there were many large windows which actually made it difficult to dial in a solid white balance since the home was on a golf course. Green tints everywhere!

Starting the couple in the kitchen helped to preheat their ovens and I quickly learned how intimate a home session is and how crucial it was to get your couple to let their guards down and you into their lives.

Once they began to feel more comfortable in front of the camera, their real smiles, laughter and kisses started to shine through.

Finally, we went back into the kitchen where they were by far most relaxed! Pretty happy with my first home engagement photo session and experimenting with a new editing technique. Hopefully to book more this year!
